Browser-based image processing keeps files local for most tools. Some features use third-party services, so here is the complete picture.
1. Browser image processing
Most ToolBox Image tools process selected image files locally in your browser. Decoding, resizing, recompressing, metadata editing, and encoding happen on your device, so those tools do not upload your image files as part of their processing workflow.
A page may still load scripts, libraries, or other assets from a CDN such as jsDelivr when a tool needs them. Loading a page or starting a tool can therefore make network requests even when the image-processing work itself is local.
2. Local browser state
Your theme preference (light, dark, or
system) is stored in localStorage under
the key toolbox-theme. Some file-transfer workflows
may temporarily keep local transfer state in IndexedDB
and sessionStorage. This state stays in your browser
and can be removed by clearing site data.
3. Text-to-image generation
The text-to-image tool sends the prompt and selected generation settings to the configured generation provider, which may be a Worker or Pollinations depending on the route. The generated image is returned to your browser. Do not include sensitive personal information in a prompt.
4. Analytics, ads, and other network services
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregated page view counts. We also participate in Google's AdSense program. AdSense may load advertising scripts and serve ads, and Google may use cookies or similar technologies for advertising purposes. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
5. No accounts required
There is nothing to sign up for. The tools are free to use, and we do not require an account or email address to process an image.
6. Browser processing details
The browser tools use browser APIs and WebAssembly where needed. You can inspect the page in your browser's developer tools to see which resources and requests a particular tool uses.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change anything material about how your data is handled, we will post a notice on this page and update the date below. The current browser-first architecture remains the foundation of the product, but third-party services and tool-specific behavior may change.
